It was a short career, but Susan Sennett spent it wisely, squeezing the most out of every moment. She premiered as Christie Sanders in the hot ‘70s series The Rookies, starring Charlie’s Angels’ Kate Jackson, then dove into the brutal and controversial kidnapping drama The Candy Snatchers (1973), with the blonde babe starring as the titular treat, and revealing her own two treats. The San Fernando Valley girl did two obligatory stints on the cheesy but popular Love, American Style, one in 1972 and another in 1973, and played Melinda in a guest-spot on Room 222 in 1973. That same year, she was cast in the movie Tidal Wave, a Japanese disaster flick re-edited for an American audience by adding in new scenes, including one with actor Lorne Greene giving a speech to the UN (okay….?). Still plucking along, one of her bigger breaks came when she nabbed the part of Susie Hamilton in the TV series Ozzie’s Girls in 1973 for a whole 24 episodes. The show was a spin-off from Ozzie and Harriet, the popular Nelson family comedy that ran from 1952-1966; in the new version, the Nelson sons are grown up and gone, and Ozzie and Harriet rent their rooms to two girls—Susan’s Susie being one of them. It didn’t last quite as long as the original, about 13 years less in fact, clocking in at only one season. Not to worry, as the starlet went on to star as Billy Jean in the movie Big Bad Mama (1974), playing Angie Dickinson’s daughter and the love interest of Tom Skerritt; Susan shares her pretties in this flick, too, going down to her birthday suit. Not on board with the racy materials she kept getting offered, the actress left Hollywood behind after this last big-screen feature. Sad to see her go (but Mr. Skin loves to watch her leave). Oh, and one more fun thing to know about Susan? She was once married to Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills & Nash and the Hollies for almost 40 years.
