With her simmering, soul-stirring stare and the glittering promise of heaven-on-earth revealed in her wickedly wide grin, miraculous brunette Hunter Tylo just might be the sexiest born-again Christian in all creation. Texas born and raised, she’s not just a pretty face, having earned a pre-med degree from Fordham University in New York. But because she is a pretty face, too, she was a top fashion model in the ‘70s and ‘80s, segueing into acting in 1984. Hot Hunter landed her career-making role in 1990, Dr. Taylor Hayes in the daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful—which she played for an incredulous 2,316 episodes for 29 years, ending in 2019. Twice named one of People Magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People,” she also landed a role on the sexy nighttime drama Melrose Place, one she never actually got to do, as she was famously fired for getting pregnant prior to filming. She was, however, not fired from Days of Our Lives as Marina Toscano from 1989-1990, or as Messua Shandar in the mini-series The Maharaja’s Daughter (1994), Billie Jeeters in the TV movie A Place Called Home (2004) with Ann-Margret, or as Amelia in the campy TV movie Hammerhead (2005) with William Forsythe. You know what else she wasn’t fired from? Her big-screen acting debut, where she played Alison in the mystery horror The Initiation (1984), starring Psycho’s Vera Miles and, coincidentally, Melrose Place actual star Daphne Zuniga.
