A vision of exquisite refinement and feline sensuality, British actress Cathy Tyson is the daughter of a Black lawyer from Trinidad and a white social worker for England. Born in Kingston-upon-Thames, London, England, Cathy moved to Liverpool, where she joined the Everyman Youth Theatre as a child. Too cool for school, Cathy quit college at seventeen to pursue a career at the Everyman Theatre for adults, and within two years, she graduated to a position with the Royal Shakespeare Company. But it was in the company of gritty Brit screen star Bob Hoskins as a wistful, jaded, brave, and jilted sex worker in Neil Jordan‘s Mona Lisa (1986) that Cathy achieved everlasting renown. She didn’t show her naked naughty bits, but she did don a very revealing bondage number and let us gaze upon her long, hairless legs in all their glory. A couple of years later, the same eternal glory was bestowed upon the chest flesh of her body double in Wes Craven‘s Serpent and Rainbow (1988). That scene make your serpent rise!
