When The Beach Boys sang about wishing all the little darlings could be California girls, they were no doubt dreaming of an angelic surfside vision very much like Michele Drake. A beachfront babe with a peachy front of her own, delicious Drake hails from the seaside Southern California town of La Jolla, a Spanish name that translates to “next stop Bunnyland.” Michele quite naturally made the hop and skip to Playboy, providing that esteemed journal of epidermal study with its May 1979 Playmate. The skin-ematic highlight of Drake’s short-lived but eternal film career was her depiction of a cheerleader who forgot to wear panties in Hollywood Knights (1980), baring the whole below-the-waist bundle, from butt to mons veneris. Michele returned to her sun-kissed roots in American Gigolo (1980), sunning the twins on a beach-side deck. These two breast invested outings from Michele were enough to pitch a tent in any man’s pants, and unfortunately it was also the last time. Michele never showed her gorgeous assets again…at least not in the nude. She continued acting in a handful of productions through the 80’s in bit parts like “Massage Girl” in Cheech and Chong’s Next Movie (1980) and “Vestal Virgin” in History of the World: Part 1. Michele’s last appearance onscreen was appropriately on the boob tube, where she played “Playmate #3” on The Jeffersons. While it’s a tragedy of skin-ful proportions that a specimen like Michele isn’t still shedding her threads for our viewing pleasure, we are forever grateful for the few eyefuls she granted us!
