Though constantly working all through the ’80s, hot-moving, hard-bodied blonde Janet Jones never quite bounded up to the A-list as an actress. This icon of the leg-warmer era’s career-launching gig as gyrating eye candy on TV’s Dance Fever did, however, score her plum roles in big screen fare such as A Chorus Line (1985) and Staying Alive (1984) as–can you guess?–a dancer. Janet’s most indelible screen appearances to date, though, came via her turn as a gorgeous gymnast who fabulously flexed her flawless form in a sprayed-on leotard throughout the Olympic drama American Anthem (1986), and a bit of faux fanny courtesy of a body double in The Flamingo Kid (1984). Nonetheless, this radiantly ravishing athlete is best known as the wife of hockey great Wayne Gretzky. Score! Since marrying the Great One in 1988, Janet’s acting career has been anything but great–and her skin-showing non-existent. Police Academy 5: Assignment: Miami Beach (1988) seems to be the last film in which Janet even teased audience’s members. Her next credit was the chick baseball flick A League of Their Own (1992). As “Racine Pitcher,” Janet’s role was not big enough to fit in a fap. She’d wait 14 years before appearing in another major film, 2006’s Alpha Dog, and then she’d take another significant break before landing in two James Franco features, Palo Alto (2013) and The Sound and the Fury (2014). As of this writing, Ms. Jones has not acted in any additional projects. How great Gretzky’s bank account must be!
