Some souls are so big and generous that their gifts cannot be expressed through any one medium alone. Such is the creative force embodied by, and propelling French singer-actress Nathalie Cardone. Since her youthful acting debut in Strange Place for an Encounter(1988), Nathalie has accepted one challenging role after another, first daring to take out her breasts and taunt an overbearing nun with taut perfection in her second film, The Little Thief (1989). It’s the story of a French girl who turns to life as a pickpocket and sexual encounters with random men after her parents bail on her. She ends up in a convent, and shows the old lady in the penguin suit that her little pair are second to nun. We wish Nathalie made it more of a habit to flash faith leaders, but we only got to see her naked one more time over the course of her twelve film credits. While it’s from a very far off distance, we do get to see bush and boobs during a skinny dipping scene in Le sourire (1994), which means “the smile.” We expected a bit more sinning to have us grinning, since the movie’s poster is literally a girl’s ass. It’s a nice crack, but we’d crack far more of a smile if there was more nudity! Famed Frenchie Jean-Paul Sartre famously said “hell is other people” but “what the hell” is when we only get to see Nathalie in a bikini in the movie about a failing marriage, Hell (1994). She stopped acting in 1997 to focus on her singing career. Cardone’s biggest reach for a role was recording and releasing the single “Hasta Siempre” in 1998. It’s a song dedicate to the revolutionary Che Guevara, which was originally written by a Cuban composer in 1965, although lefty artists have been covering it for years. If you don’t know history, you might remember him as the sexy bearded guy in a beret the cool college kids tend to wear on their tee shirts. Hopefully she liberates herself from her top again. We can’t accept Nathalie is Cardone with nude scenes!
