If he’s said it once, he’s said it a hundred times—if you’re only going to do one movie, you should make it a good one, and make your part in it memorable. Amanda followed this rule, and did it beautifully. While Mr. Skin definitely feels like he’s on a first-name basis with this Spanish actress, he isn’t forgoing her last name because of it—she’s only credited with one name for her part in the Spanish film Más que amor, frenesi (1996), aka Not Love, Just Frenzy. She appears about an hour in, playing a “mujer madura,” or mature woman. After sex with a younger guy, she becomes distraught at the lack of his continued attention, grabs a gun, and does assorted things with it, all while wearing only a pair of thigh-high stockings. There’s a full bush in full view, and a nice set of bare boobs; Amanda may not be a twenty-something, but she looks damn fine. While her nudity alone would make this a good role, the movie itself is teeming with talent from the Spanish entertainment family the Bardems. Javier Bardem (you know him from a slew of Hollywood flicks) has a small, uncredited role. His cousin Miguel is one of the directors. His brother Carlos and his sister Mónica are both in the film. There’s even a script supervisor that’s related, as well as a guy in the music department. Penélope Cruz also makes an appearance (she’s married to Javier now, but she wasn’t back then). So yeah, one film, but a lifetime of memories (for both Amanda and Mr. Skin).
