Valérie Donzelli burst onto the French Skinematic Scene in 1998 with a role in the short film Herbert C. Berliner. It most certainly wasn’t the blockbuster the producers hoped it would be, but it did succeed in one very important aspect; it put Ms. Donzelli, who was born in Épinal, Vosges, France, on the proverbial map. That’s a very good thing, considering that a scant two years later, she scored the title role in the Ultra-Skinful Martha… Martha (2001). She only played one “Martha” in the movie, but we’re going to go ahead and climb out on a limb here and suggest that both “Marthas” in the title refer to the same babe. In any case, the film would be a total downer were it not for the many, many Skin Scenes in which Valérie and all her Donzelli-s appeared. True to French Skinematic form, there is quite a disturbing, depressing plot to deal with, but for intrepid Skinophiles like us, it’s all a matter of skillfully manipulating the mute button and some creative fast-forwarding. Make sure to check it out for some of the best fluffy-muff and perky-pillow shots to ever hit the Silver Screen. Only her gynecologist and a few million or so viewers know Valérie all that well! Vertical smile and say “Oh!” for Mr. Camera.
