Ah yes, the one-hit topless wonder. You’ll find lots of those here at Skin Central, and the joyously juggalicious June Gilbert is just one of ‘em. But she is a pretty damn cute one! June made just three on screen appearances in her career, starting out on an episode of the wealthy Texan turned California private investigator drama Matt Houston. But it was in her first big screen appearance that Houston we had liftoff. Yes, we went from six to midnight when June gave us some nudity in 10 to Midnight (1983), a thriller about an LAPD detective chasing a guy murdering young women, which featured the ever-gruff Charles Bronson as the lead investigator on the trail of yet another psycho killer. June comes in like a lamb and goes out in a body bag, as she plays one of the psycho’s first victims. But before she succumbs to a stalker’s evil shaft, Junie jiggles all three B’s around in a van that’s a-rockin and through the forest while she flees the slasher. And then, she gets killed. June went out with a bang, appearing in Strangers in Paradise (1984), a bonkers flick about a Nazi fleeing mind control expert who gets cryogenically frozen during the war, only to be thawed out in the 80’s by a bunch of fascists to rid the world of homosexuals. Oh, and it’s a musical. And the director plays Hitler in it. For her role, June played the punk who makes us spunk, then opted to call it a career. It’s great to go out on top but we wish she went out topless. Still, when Miss Gilbert was at her best it was never hotter than June!
