After graduating in Political Science Honors from Nalbari College and training at the National School of Drama in New Delhi, the brainy beauty caught her big break when she was cast as the titular character in the biopic Bandit Queen (1994). Based on the life of female rights activist Phoolan Devi, the film deals with poverty, an abusive marriage, sexual assault, and revenge. Audiences who can get through the heavy content may be contented with images of Seema’s skin. For example, the naked leading lady is stripped down to her birthday suit by an angry mob that gawks at her fine form, from her shapely gams to her bare mams. If that’s not erotic enough, the drama offers peeks at its heroine’s bare butt cheeks and bush. No wonder Ms. Biswas was given the National Film Award for Best Actress! The esteemed ingénue went on to receive the Best Supporting Actress Screen Award for Khamoshi: The Musical (1996) and the Best Actress Genie Award for Deepa Mehta’s dramatic film Water (2005).
