Sherry Winters was also known as the Yum Yum Girl, and she was good enough to eat. The painted lady, a blonde bombshell, who was stripping back when it wasn’t cool, first came to our attention in the documentary Peek-a-Boo (1953). Thought that was a typo, that there should have been another B at the end, but those were subtler times. The movie is a filmed record of a burlesque show featuring strippers and comedians. One guess what Sherry was. Her pasties give her away. That ain’t no joke. She continued to dance her way into our heart-ons with Merry Maids of the Gay Way (1954), another burlesque documentary, before disappearing from the public hairy eye.
