In Sydney, Australia, a stunningly beautiful flower was planted. It was a poppy — a Poppy Montgomery, to be more specific — and it was plucked from its native soil and foisted upon a waiting world via Hollywood. Blonde beauty Poppy was born on June 15, 1972, and she always had a rebellious spirit. Poppy never liked school and was expelled from not one, but six private academies before she officially dropped out at age fifteen. When she was eighteen years old, Poppy traveled to the United States to meet a boyfriend in Florida. But after a few days, she found that she “couldn’t stand him,” so Poppy ditched her beau and headed to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. She began her career with bit parts on the boob tube, though skinophiles began to take notice with her top-notch portrayal of her idol, Marilyn Monroe, in the mini-series Blonde (2001). Unlike Marilyn herself, Poppy didn’t peel for photo shoots or films, but she did don some super-slinky costumes reminiscent of the tragic blonde herself. She also gave us a peek down her shirt in Reef Break (2019). Nowadays, you can pluck Poppy on hit series such as Without a Trace (2002), Unforgettable (2011) or Reef Break (2019).
