Raised in Eritrea (a country in the Horn of Africa—Mr. Skin had to look it up; he didn’t know either) to an Italian father and Eritrean mother, Ines Pellegrini moved to Italy as a young adult, and entered the cinema scene. Working under the names Macha Erit, Macia Pellegrini, and Erit Masha, she took small roles in films like They were Called Three Musketeers But They Were Four (1973). Noted Italian writer and director Pier Paolo Pasolini took a liking to Ines’ exotic beauty and cast her in the lead role of Zumurrud in the movie Arabian Nights (1974), which took home multiple awards, including the Grand Prize of the Jury at the Cannes Film Festival. In addition to being a big hit, the film was also X-rated, and gave Ines plenty of opportunity to be fully naked, showing off all her pretty private parts. The lithe lovely then took on the role of Naiba Campbell in Eyeball (1975), before Pasolini called her back to play Serva in Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom (1975), where she’s again in the buff, although with a very unhappy ending. With her willingness to be a little risqué on screen established, she earned the role of Sarah in the X-rated Annie (1976), then went on to star in Escape from Women’s Prison (1978) as Terry, War of the Robots (1978) as Sonia (and credited as Micky Pilgrim), and playing L’abissina in The Fascist Jew(1980). Her last on-screen role was in I Am an ESP (1985) as a concubine. Rumor has it she eventually settled in Los Angeles with an Italian husband, working with the homeless.
