You probably remember Norwegian Lene Nystrøm as the lead singer and frontwoman of the 1990s pop group Aqua, who had the hit song “Barbie Girl,” a candy-coated confection with over 898 million views on YouTube (“Come on, Barbie, let’s go party, ah, ah, ah, yeah.”) While she’s still active on the music scene, the striking brunette has expanded outside the world of music videos, and broke into the acting game in 2007 with a brief stint on a Norwegian TV series with too many weird letters for Mr. Skin to include. Turning to the big screen, she took the role of Pernille in the Denmark/Sweden/Norway collab Deliver Us From Evil, where we finally find out what’s underneath Barbie’s clothes—a really nice set of knockers, and anatomically correct with pretty nipples. In 2010, she nabbed the role of Karin in the Norwegian Varg Veum series, starting with The Writing on the Wall (2010), followed by Black Sheep (2011), The Consorts of Death (2011), At Night All Wolves Are Grey (2011), The Dead Have It Easy (2012), and Cold Hearts (2012). In Black Sheep, original title Svarte Får, the movie opens with Lene getting busy with her dude, bare breasts rocking with the motion of the ocean she’s creating while riding on top. Lene also appeared as Eva Karlsen in Betrayal, a different Eva in The Reunion (2011), a Lill Maren in The Regulars, and an Ally in Wonderland Recoil (2022), all on the big screen. On the little screen, she joined the cast of the long-running Danish show Klovn in 2018, playing a character named Lene for ten episodes. Guess Mr. Skin finally knows what Barbie grew up to be.
