Born under the name “Maria Mercedes Porte Cabral” in Manila, Philippines, on August 10, 1986, the Filipino femme flashed full nudity during an explicit sex scene in the heavy drama Service (2008). The drama takes place in the seedy underbelly of the city of Angeles, where a fancy, family-owned porn theater has become a perfect spot for pervs and sex workers. Mercedes plays the daughter of the theater-owning family, and she gets fully nude — showing her boobs and buns — with a lucky guy in one unforgettable scene. But as soon as the film was released, Mercedes made an announcement proclaiming that she would no longer do nude scenes. Boo! Hiss! Thankfully, Mercedes briefly backed away from her anti-skin decree and went topless in the ghostly drama Latak (2009). Also, the black-haired beauty gave a sexy performance in Booking (2009). Mercedes kept busy both on the big screen and the boob tube, snagging memorable roles on the popular TV show Hiyas (2012) and on the political-tinged mini-series Bayan ko (2013). More recently, Mercedes has appeared in works such as Ang babae sa septic tank 3: The Real Untold Story of Josephine Bracken (2019), Mystery of the Night (2019), U Turn (2020), and Woman in the Woods (2020). In 2008, Mercedes earned the title of “most beautiful woman in Cannes” through an online voting poll by paparazzi.
