At 14, she signed her first modeling contract, and soon she was going by the pseudonym Angelababy, a portmanteau of her English name “Angela” and “baby,” a nickname that she earned during her school years. The newly designated Angelababy made her screen debut in the 2007 movie Trivial Matters. It took a few years for her acting career to really get rolling, but by 2011 she was appearing in such movies as Love You You, Love in Space, and Beginning of the Great Revival. By the time she was 24, Angelababy was named one of the Four Dan actresses, meaning one of Mainland China’s four most bankable young actresses. Her destiny was secured. In addition to her impressive list of national and international movie credits including Bride Wars (2015), Mojin: The Lost Legend (2015), Hitman: Agent 47 (2015), and Independence Day: Resurgence (2016), the hottie with a body has also made a name for herself as a singer.
