Viva Viola Davis! Born August 11, 1965 in South Carolina, her family moved to Central Falls, Rhode Island when she was just two months old. Living through poverty, her mom was a factory worker and civil rights activist and her father cared for horses at racetracks to make ends meet. After graduating from Central Falls High, her love for acting led to studying at Rhode Island College and then the famed Julliard School in NYC. The future Oscar winner made her screen debut in The Substance of Fire (1996). Since then, she’s gained international fame, numerous accolades and is considered one of the best actresses of stage and screen. Viola has given great performances in films and shows like Law & Order: SVU, Nights in Rodanthe (2008), Doubt (2008), United States of Tara and The Help (2011). On stage, she won a Tony for her turns in King Hedley II in 2001 and Fences in 2010. It is in her hit TV show How to Get Away with Murder that Viola turns on the va voom and shows off her sexy side when she hooks up with Famke Janssen for a little lesbian lick-fest.
